GRANT OPPORTUNITY - Food Security Projects

Updated: Oct 11, 2020

Regional District of Mount Waddington, B.C. - Nutrition Link  is accepting applications for food security programs. School and Charitable Organizations are eligible to apply for this funding.   http://www.nutritionlink.org/grant-program.html

All applications must be for activities that contribute to NLS’s mission statement - To support and sponsor food security projects through nutrition education and food skill building for vulnerable British Columbia residents. The activities described in the application must benefit British Columbians. Funds can be used to purchase equipment and for general operating expenses specified in the budget proposal, including salaries for staff. Grants cannot be made to individuals.

Grants are up to $5000 each.  This is reported to be quite a competitive grant and that successful applications are among those that can tie their project outcomes closely to the NLS mission statement.

The application seems quite standard with the biggest challenge of being able to provide a balance sheet and audited statement of revenue and expense for the most recent completed year, as many small growers and organizations don't require audited statements.

If you decide to go forward with your application and see a way that I can support your efforts, please let us know - we are trying to map opportunity in the region and understand how to support.

Please feel free to share the link to this opportunity with your network.
