North Island Hospice Care - In search of Volunteers

There is an adage that says there are two

things in life that are certain: death and taxes. And in the prior case and in our latter years, our local hospice volunteers help people navigate through the most assured and difficult of times with wisdom, compassion, and insight.

The North Island Hospice Society is looking for new volunteers to do the hospice course, and they need more trained volunteers to do an advanced course on Grief and Bereavement.

Tama Recker, a trainer from Vancouver, has the opportunity to come up in January and give a further course on Grief and Bereavement. The tentative dates are Jan 25 & Feb 3rd. (weekends). If you are interested in volunteering and learning more about how to help people navigate this stage of life, please contact Helen Gurney (hgurney@ for more information.
