BC Healthy Communities is hosting a webinar on June 9 exploring how local governments can ensure their Age-friendly needs assessments and action plans will have maximum impact. Issues including equity, engagement, and evaluation will be covered, discussing practical approaches that allow communities to move forward with Age-friendly planning and help navigate some considerations related to the arrival COVID-19.

This webinar will present tips that can help communities in optimizing their Age-friendly assessment and planning process and get the most out of their efforts towards improving the lives of older people, their families, and their communities. Tips to be shared and discussed include, adopting an equity lens, meaningful engagement, and appropriate evaluation as they relate to developing Age-friendly communities. The information shared is intended to provide practical approaches that allow communities to move forward with Age-friendly needs assessment and develop an action plan, as well as help navigate some considerations related to COVID-19. Those communities who are about to embark on an Age-friendly assessment and plan as well as those considering starting this kind of work will benefit from the information shared. Likewise, potential partners and collaborators of local communities will gain a fuller understanding of Age-friendly community planning as well.
